John Zimmerman

Biology Lecturer and Advisor

John Zimmerman will be teaching 2 biology courses a semester for pre-health and he will also be advising pre-health students. John earned his PhD in Developmental Biology from Temple University in 1994 where he studied asexual reproduction of the soil fungus Aspergillus nidulans. His postdoctoral work at University of Pennsylvania focused on the regulation of compound eye development in the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. Before joining LPS, John was with the Center for Sleep and Circadian Neurobiology in the Perelman School of Medicine where he was engaged in research on the molecular basis of sleep.
