Jaime Kelly

Administrative Director, Summer Session and Post-Baccalaureate Programs

Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics, 2015
Certificates in Leadership & Management and Practitioner of Change
Bachelor of Arts, English Literature, Skidmore College, 2003

Growing up in the Philadelphia suburbs, Jaime Kelly always loved the liberal arts. After she graduated from Skidmore College with her BA in English literature, she began working for a weekly newspaper based in Center City. Then in 2009, Jaime started to work for a large foodservice organization and her role brought her to Penn, regularly. Jaime loved being back on a college campus and thought Penn would be the perfect place for her to work.

“I was hired by Penn in 2011, and it took me about a year to select a graduate program to apply to. The Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics program appealed to me because its design allowed me to select the courses I needed to advance my career. I gained so many insights on how to be a better leader and advisor and I learned how to navigate through organizational change.

Each course in the Organizational Dynamics program seemed to build on the information I learned during the previous one. I took two classes each semester and found the process of developing new knowledge to be addicting.

What advice would I share with other Penn employees? Even if you only audit one course a year, take advantage of your tuition benefits. Penn Summer is a perfect time to begin. With its open enrollment, you don’t have to apply to a program in order to register for a class. You can even take a course for personal enrichment. It’s always a good idea to come to the College of Liberal and Professional Studies during a Walk-in Wednesday to ask about how to get started. You’ll be amazed at what’s open for you to explore.

As for my plans after receiving my master’s? I’m enrolling in the Penn Alumni program and will jump right back into the classroom. As I said, education is addicting.”
