Featuring Carolyn Baugh, Ph.D. candidate in NELC at the University of Pennsylvania, specialist in gender and Islamic law, Manar Darwish, lecturer on women in Islam and Islamic studies at St. Joseph's University, Leila C. Kubba, Iraqi-born artist and director of the Iraqi Cultural Society, Washington, D.C.

This symposium is part of the Wilma Theater's production of "9 Parts of Desire" by Iraqi-American playwright, Heather Raffo. This tour de force one-woman performance of the lives of Iraqi women was nominated for the Drama Desk and the Lucille Lortel awards. The symposium will follow the matinee performance on February 5th. The show plays from February 1 to March 12. The symposium is free and open to the public.
