My research examines under-explored repertoires in jazz and other 20th century music through a combination of historical and analytical perspectives. I am motivated by the ways in which music and sound interact with culture, including through popular music, technology, and legal and political engagement. Previously, I studied at Tufts University where I conducted research on contemporary big band jazz and taught about music and copyright law. I am also active as a jazz guitarist and composer.
