-Returning Penn Wind Ensemble members are not required to sign up for an audition-

  • Thursday, Sept. 1st:  STUDENTS AUDITIONING FOR ORCHESTRA and/or PENN CHAMBER, PENN BAROQUE ENSEMBLE should audition on this date

 3-8pm PSO/Penn Chamber/Penn Baroque Ensemble



  • Friday, Sept. 2nd:  

10am-3pm PENN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Strings/Wind/Brass/Percussion


  • Tuesday, Sept. 6:  FLUTE AUDITIONS

4:30-7:30pm Flute auditions for Penn Symphony Orchestra, Penn Baroque Ensemble, and Penn Flutes.  Location:  LERNER CENTER, Room 101

 

 

 

*Wind/Brass/Percussion students who are interested in auditioning for both Penn Symphony Orchestra and Penn Wind Ensemble should audition during these times.

 Auditions will be held in Amado Recital Hall, Irvine Auditorium (34th and Spruce Streets).

Auditions will last approximately 6-7 minutes each; students will be assigned a 20-minute time slot during which the audition will be held.

 Instrumental Ensembles: You will be asked to play 3-5 minutes of music of your choosing.  Please prepare selections that contain at least two contrasting styles (i.e. lyrical and technical).  Memorization is not required.

Auditions for all choral ensembles will be held in Room 231, Music Building (201 S. 34th Street)

There is nothing to prepare for these auditions. You will be asked to sing a series of vocal exercises at your audition. Some sight-reading skill is required for both smaller ensembles - Ancient Voices and the University Choir.

Students interested in auditioning for the Samba Ensemble should contact Mike Stevens (sambafreak13@gmail.com) directly for information.  No audition is required.

Students interested in Arab Music Ensemble should the attend the first session - Thursday, Sept. 1st  in Room 101 of the Lerner Center 201 s. 34th St.
