Gabriel Salgado

Ph.D. Student in Political Theory

Gabriel Salgado is a PhD candidate in the Political Science Department at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a member of the Hic Rosa Collective. His work focuses on how the concept of race is informed by notions of time and history. His dissertation explores these themes in the context of early modern Spain and Latin America. He is also interested in the role of memory and melancholia in magical realist literature, and has published on the work of Elena Garro.
