Ryan Brutger joined the department as an assistant professor of political science in 2016. He has a BA in International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College, a MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University, where he was awarded the Harold W. Dodds Honorific Fellowship.
Ryan is broadly interested in international relations and foreign policy. His research examines the domestic politics of international negotiations and cooperation. His research has been published in the American Journal of Political Science and The Review of International Organizations. He teaches classes on international political economy and the politics of international negotiations.
