Research Interests
My background includes theory of surfaces, interfaces, and defects. The
methods
for these studies have included the use of Green's functions, the
tight-binding
approximation, and density functional theory. The principle focus of my
past
work has been the structure and formation energies of point defects in
semiconducting materials. Currently I am collaborating with the Rappe group
in the investigation of perovskite materials with a focus on how the
microscopic
structure of these materials are linked to their electrical and magnetic
properties.
