 Chijioke studies religion, media, and culture, with particular interest in the cinematic representations of worship rituals and the supernatural in African societies. He researches Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry, and how it shapes and is shaped by contemporary practices of religious beliefs in Africa and African Diaspora. He has been a consultant to Nollywood Media and Research Center, Lagos and the Movie Reporters Guild of Nigeria. Chijioke received his B.A. degrees in philosophy (first class honors), theology, and communication science respectively from University of Zimbabwe, Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Kenya, and University of South Africa and his MSc./M.A. degrees in global media and communications from the London School of Economics, UK, and University of Southern California.
