Rose has completed a B.A and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently working on her dissertation: "God is the Best Guardian: Islamic Talismanic Shirts from the Gunpowder Empires." Her research interests include textile history, the material culture of religion and Muslim/Christian interactions in the medieval Mediterranean region. She has worked extensively in museums, both at the University Museum and as a research assistant to Louise Mackie (curator of Textiles and Islamic Art) at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Her most recent conference presentation was titled "At the Gates of Gog and Magog: Monstrous Creatures in Medieval Islamic Art and Imagination" (Middle East Center Graduate Conference, University of Pennsylvania, April, 2011). She is currently serving as the Boardman Fellow.
