Electronic Directory for Writers

The Kelly Writers House at Penn has recently added an "Alumni E-Directory" to its web page. This resource enables Penn students and alumni to find contact information about alumni who are involved with writing, teaching and publishing. The page includes an Alumni Directory Entry Form in which alumni can submit information about themselves. You can access the page at http://dept.english.upenn.edu/~wh/alumni/directory.

Career Planning and Placement Services for Alumni

The Office of Career Planning and Placement (CPPS) offers many services to alumni that are available on-line. You can view all the options -- including an on-line job listing service, a credentials service, and listings of alumni contacts in various careers -- at http://www.upenn.edu/CPPS/alumnimenu.html.

Prospective Graduate Students Can Apply On-Line

SAS now offers on-line versions of applications for all doctoral programs and some master's degree programs. "PennExpressApp" is a web-based electronic application that will eventually replace the paper version of graduate applications. The advantages are many. The on-line application fee is $10 less than for the traditional applicaton, because of the reduction in expenses. Prospective students can modify their applications any number of times before submitting it. They can also check on the status of their application and note the receipt of supporting documentation, such as recommendations and transcripts. More information is available at http://www.sas.upenn.edu/GAS/admissions.html.
Computerized undergraduate applications are currently available on disk but cannot be submitted on-line. The University is working to create interactive undergraduate applications on-line for the near future.
