SAS call for nominations

All alumni of the School of Arts and Sciences are invited to nominate recipients for the 1996-1997 Distinguished Alumni Awards. The awards are given annually to alumni of the College, Graduate Division or College of General Studies, and recognize outstanding professional achievement. Two alumni are honored for achievements in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The recipients are chosen from the nominations by a selection committee, and the awards will be presented at the SAS Dean's Forum in the spring of 1997.

The 1995-96 Distinguished Alumni Awards were presented to John Edgar Wideman, C'63, HON'86, novelist and professor of English at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Leonard Apt, M.D., C'42, professor of ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute of the UCLA School of Medicine.
