Call for Nominations for the SAS Distinguished Alumni Award

Alumni and faculty of the School of Arts and Sciences are invited to nominate candidates for the 1998-99 SAS Distinguished Alumni Award. The Award recognizes outstanding professional achievement in an area of the liberal arts and is presented annually to alumni of the College, College for Women, Graduate Division, or College of General Studies. The honorees are chosen by a selection committee from the pool of nominees; the Award will be presented at the SAS Dean's Forum in the spring of 1999. Past winners include William Golden, C'30, Hon'79, chairman emeritus of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City; Nobel Prize-winning scientist Michael S. Brown, M.D., C'62, M'66, Hon'86; and William Shore, C'77, founder and executive director of Share Our Strength, an antihunger organization.

You can nominate alumni by sending us their name, title, and address along with a short description of the nominee's accomplishments in the liberal arts. Be sure to include your name and address as well. The deadline is October 1, 1998.
