25th Anniversary Celebration of Women's Studies
Join us for a two-day celebration marking 25 years of Women's Studies at Penn. On Thursday, September 24, Catharine R. Stimpson, graduate dean of New York University and author of Where the Meanings Are: Feminism and Cultural Spaces, will give a special lecture. On Friday, September 25, there will be a full day of panel discussions on a variety to women's topics, including women in the workplace, masculinities, menopause, women and literature, and race/ethnicity/women. Career Fair Volunteers Needed
Calling all SAS alumni! You're invited to discuss your career paths and educational backgrounds with students at the annual College Alumni Society Career Fair on Wednesday, November 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Career Fair creates an informal setting in which liberal arts students can learn about career options available to them. Participation of alumni from a wide variety of fields is needed to make this event a valuable experience for students. Arts and Sciences Trattoria at Homecoming
Come say "ciao" to one of SAS's newest and brightest professors at the Arts and Sciences Trattoria during Homecoming Weekend. Professor Penny Marcus, the Mariano DiVito Professor in Italian Studies, will discuss "From Novel to Film: In Defense of Unfaithful Adaptations." As part of the presentation, she will show clips of Italian films illustrating the various approaches to literary adaptation.
