Earth Day -- Faculty and Staff Schuylkill River Clean-Up

Where: Bartram’s Garden (5400 Lindbergh Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19143)

What: A clean-up in collaboration with United by Blue

When: Friday, April 27, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Bartram’s Garden is a National Historic Landmark and a treasured nature sanctuary within the city. With community programming in gardening, conservation and outdoor recreation, Bartram’s Garden is near and dear to many Philadelphian’s hearts. However, the flow of the Schuylkill River can bring litter and trash to the shoreline of the park. For this year’s Earth Day Event, we’re excited to give back by helping to keep the garden clean and beautiful, and we hope you can join us!

SAS Sustainability will provide SEPTA tokens for transportation as a group to and from the site. Attendees should meet at 3600 Market Street, Suite 501, at 8:30 AM on April 27th. Alternatively, attendees can meet on site at Bartram’s Garden at 9:15 AM. All tools and materials needed for the clean-up will be provided by United by Blue, and it is recommended that volunteers wear closed-toe shoes they don’t mind getting wet and dirty. A tour of Bartram’s Garden will be provided after the cleanup from 12- 12:30 PM and boxed lunches will be served. Staff members who plan to attend the event should clear it with supervisors prior to registering.

Please register here by April 13th if you can join us. We hope to see you there!
