Please join SAS Sustainability from 3-5pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, for the Earth Day Faculty and Staff Tour of the Big Green Block!
The Big Green Block is a 7-acre site at 1800 Blair St | Berks Station, Market-Frankford Line that contains numerous Green Stormwater Infrastructure installations. This includes: stormwater tree trenches, green roofs, rain gardens, stormwater cisterns, and pervious pavement. The tour of the site will be led by Sandy Sorlien, an environmental educator from the Fairmount Water Works, which is the education arm of the PWD.
Staff members who plan to attend the event should clear the early release with supervisors prior to registering for the event. Attendees should meet at 3600 Market Street, Suite 501, at 3pm on April 22nd. SAS Sustainability will provide SEPTA tokens for transportation as a group to the site.
