We hope that you are adjusting to life at Penn and that your transition is going smoothly. SAS Human Resources would like to officially welcome you to the School of Arts and Sciences by inviting you to attend the SAS New Staff Orientation (NSO) which will be held on Thursday, January 31st from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Max Kade Center, 3401 Walnut Street (A Wing), Room 329A. Breakfast refreshments will be served.

The speakers at NSO and the topics that they will cover include:

  • Pat Burns, Executive Director, SAS Organizational Strategy, will provide an introduction to SAS and SAS HR and facilitate the session.
  • Dr. Paul SniegowskiDean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Professor of Biology, will discuss his academic focus and the impact that staff make on the culture at SAS.
  • Matt Lane, Vice Dean, Administration & Finance, will welcome you to SAS and provide relevant information about the school.
  • Allison Rose, Assistant Dean, SAS, will discuss the SAS academic structure.
  • Soncerae Lewis, Quality of Work Life Administrator, will discuss various Penn wellness and work-life programs including the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Ralph DeLucia, Associate Director, Affirmative Action & Equal Opportunity, will present the values of a professional and respectful workplace.
  • Sara King, Director of Sustainability & Project Management, will provide an overview of Penn's Climate Action Plan and Arts & Sciences' ongoing commitment to Sustainability. 
  • Brittany Robertson, Enrollment Specialist, will discuss continuing education programs through Penn LPS as well as tuition assistance.
  • Christine Brisson, Director of Information Security and Unix Systems, will provide an introduction to working with technology at SAS, information security, and privacy.

Please join us in the Perelman Center for Political Science and Economics (PCPSE) Auditorium for an update on the Workday transition and for a brief update on the Affirmative Action documentation requirements for hiring. 

PCPSE is located at 133 S. 36th Street.  The main entrance is on 36th St. between Walnut and Sansom Streets.  The auditorium is located on the ground floor, 1 level down from the main entrance.
