Course Description: 

The course is designed for juniors and seniors , and Penn working professionals who have no prior exposure to Chinese, and are interested in learning basic Chinese language and culture for the preparation of a business trip to China. The objective of this course is to build an understanding of foundation of basic Chinese in the business context, with a main focus on speaking and listening and minimal reading. Upon Completion, students are expected to be able to converse and interact with people in a variety of traveling settings and in company visits. Topics in the course units include meeting people, talking about family, introducing companies, making inquiries and appointments, visiting company, introducing products, initiating dining invitations and practicing dining etiquette.
