QUEENS COLLEGE OF THE CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK invites applications for a tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Studies. PhD in an appropriate social science in hand by September 1, 2014. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a well-defined research program and professional activity in urban politics, activism, economics, space, or governance. Candidates should show evidence of commitment to teaching and to excellence in both teaching and research. The department seeks candidates who focus on urban inequality, urban planning, urban environment, urban politics, social movements, globalization, and related areas. We especially seek candidates who are qualified to teach urban inequality and diversity, in addition to upper-level electives. The Department offers interdisciplinary undergraduate and masters programs that emphasize urban politics and activism, community organization, urban development, and public administration within the urban setting. We seek candidates who can contribute to this program’s growth in the New York City area and will enhance the diversity of the faculty.
