Marketing and Business Development Intern at PIDC

PIDC’s Marketing and Business Development team is responsible for marketing communications, business development, and government relations. PIDC’s marketing and business development efforts are focused on the following targeted market sectors: small and midsize commercial businesses and non-profit organizations, industrial businesses, neighborhood-based real estate development, and corporate and institutional development. The Marketing and Business Development team works closely with all areas of PIDC (real estate, financing and operations) to communicate our message and drive business growth. 

Position Overview:

The Marketing and Business Development Intern will assist with:

  • Planning and execution of PIDC’s 60th anniversary events and initiatives, as well as other marketing communications activities;
  • Prospect research, internal data analysis, and outreach initiatives in support of PIDC’s business development goals; and
  • Issues tracking and research related to government relations initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of client stories and other content for PIDC e-newsletter, website, and social media outlets
  • Research, write and implement direct mail and email outreach campaigns
  • Assist in the execution of PIDC annual client event, 60th anniversary events, and technical assistance workshop
  • Undertake industry and company research related to new business development
  • Tracking and analysis of internal CRM data, online inquiries, social media, and website to support business decisions
  • Assist with developing, updating and maintaining distribution and contact lists which support general PIDC marketing initiatives and targeted outreach efforts within each market sector
  • Track key legislative issues at the federal and state level and undertake occasional research projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate student with relevant work experience and/or coursework
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to analyze and
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with using various social media channels preferred
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and databases preferred
