BINDING OF VISUAL STIMULI TO SPATIAL LOCATIONS IN THE VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT

An important factor in the formation of memory is the context in which items are encoded. Memories are not formed independently of one another, and context refers to the variables that were present at the time an item was studied. Many variables make up parts of the context, including such things as the environment in which an event takes place and the time when an event occurs. Using a virtual reality environment, this study examines how spatial context, that is, the location of items in space, affects how items are learned and remembered.
