We are keeping
this page on-line because of the impressive number of "hits"
(66,000!) by individuals interested in Andean Archaeology. Check out the
Fall 2001 The Northeast Conference on
Andean and
Amazonian Archaeology and Ethnohistory Web Site. The meetings will be held on the campus of London, Ontario, Canada,
Nov 3-4,
2001.
This annual conference is a 2-day series of lectures on recent archaeological, ethnographic, and ethnohistorical research in the Andean region of South America (Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Chile; often including talks on Argentina, Venezuela, and Brazil). Participants (speakers and audience) are generally from the northeastern region of the United States but we often have participants from outside the area and overseas. Most of the research presented at the conference is recent and "in progress", often discussing work done last summer or on-going investigations. The lectures are free and open to the public.
