Research News

I recently presented the the Challenge Paper on Population Growth at the Copenhagen Consensus 2012, a project that aims to prioritize different approaches for addressing ten of the most pressing global challenges. Readers of the accompanying Slate Magazine Forum ranked family as a high priority solution for addressing population growth, while the CC2012 Expert Panel Final Report did not rank family planning programs and population growth highly it highly. For additional information, follow the discussion here.

Our book on Understanding Family Change and Variation: Toward a Theory of Conjunctural Action (Jennifer A. Johnson-Hanks, Christine A. Bachrach, S. Philip Morgan and Hans-Peter Kohler) just appeared with Springer Press in the series on Understanding Population Trends and Processes (http://www.springer.com/978-94-007-1944-6). The book is free for PAA members (after login) on the PAA website at http://www.populationassociation.org/.
