Deities standing on bulls. Fig. 500 is a relief on a stele from
the 8th or 7th century BCE found 25 kilometers from Aleppo, Syria. It
shows the deity holding, in his left hand, a three-pronged
thunderbolt and reins which guide the bull, and in his right hand a
leaf or cone. Fig. 501 is a relief on a stele of the 8th century BCE
from Arslan Tash, in northern Syria, showing a storm god holding a
double three-pronged fork, representing lightning, in each hand.
