Instructions on how to run GAUSS for Windows. 1) Click on the GAUSS-Icon 2) You will see the Command-Window. You can enter GAUSS commands directly at the prompt. However, in many instances it is more efficient to write a batch program that can be saved and executed repeatedly. 3) To get you started with GAUSS, this directory contains 3 small batch programs: matrix.g, loaddata.g, and random.g that you should study carefully to familiarize yourself with the structure and syntax of GAUSS. The directory also contains a data set data1.prn. 4) To load one of the three programs, select from the menu: file/edit/ [directory and filename] and hit enter. 5) The GAUSS-Edit window will open and you can read and edit the program. 6) To execute the program, simply press the RUN button. The output will appear in the command window. 7) You can find an online help under help/contents
