Walter H. Annenberg Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania; Affiliated Faculty, Organizational Dynamics
Dr. Walter Licht's expertise focuses on the history of work and labor markets. He teaches courses in American economic and labor history and has written nine books on these topics. Walter began teaching at Penn in 1977 and has served in a number of roles at Penn, including Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences for ten years, where he was responsible for graduate education, social science departments, area studies programs and research and education centers. He is currently Faculty Director of Civic House and the Penn Civic Scholars Program. Walter received a Master in Sociology from the University of Chicago as well as a Master and PhD in History from Princeton University.
