Anna Simas

PhD in Classics, University of Washington ‘19—expected


Classical Languages, cum laude, University of California, Berkeley, '13

Anna's interests include gender in Attic tragedy (particularly Sophoclean tragedy), intertextuality and Bronze Age material culture. Anna attended UC Berkeley's 2012 Archaeological Field School in Mycenae and Nemea, Greece, after which she joined Dr. Kim Shelton's research team at the Nemea Archives in Berkeley as an undergraduate research apprentice. In addition to Greek and Latin, Anna has studied Spanish, French and German.
