Will Shrout

Master of Arts in Classics graduate,The University of Texas at Austin ‘19—expected


Bachelor of Arts, Ancient Mediterranean Studies, Minors in Greek and Spanish, cum laude, Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, '13

Will entered the Classical Studies post-baccalaureate program in the fall of 2013. He attended the Sunoikisis Undergraduate Research Symposium in 2012 and the Homer Multitext Project in the summer of 2013, both held at the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C. He has also studied abroad in Istanbul, Turkey. 

His interests are focused on Homeric poetry and ritual in Archaic and Classical Greece. He is also interested in classical reception and intertextuality. Will’s senior honors thesis focused on Helen of Troy's evolution from Spartan cult to her reception in 20th century fiction.
