Your tuition at the University of Pennsylvania is calculated at a per course unit (c.u.) rate* based on the program you choose and the number of course units for which you register unless otherwise indicated. All tuition and fee charges are subject to the approval of the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and may change without notice.

As an International Guest student, you will enroll in a full-time program of study (4 course units*) each semester you are enrolled at Penn. You will work closely with an academic advisor to select the courses that will help you accomplish your academic goals.

Choose your courses

As a student in the International Guest Student Program, you have access to a broad range of undergraduate courses (up to the 5999 level). Each semester, the College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) offers courses from more than 50 academic departments at a discounted tuition rate. 

International Guest Student Program application deadlines

You may apply to begin your studies during the fall or spring terms. (If you plan to study during the summer term, please apply to the Penn Global Summer Institute.) Your application portfolio, including all transcripts, must be received by the following deadlines:

The International Guest Student Program (IGSP) is designed for students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs at institutions outside the US. Students must have completed the first year of their undergraduate studies and maintained the equivalent of a 3.3 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or higher in prior college-level work.
