Laura holds a M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College and a M.S.Ed. in Intercultural Communication from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (GSE). She has been a member of the Penn community since 2012.  As a graduate student, she worked as an Academic Writing Coach at GSE and was the Workshop Coordinator at the Albert M. Greenfield Intercultural Center.  In fall of 2014, Laura began teaching Spanish in the College of Arts and Sciences and co-led a trip of 60 graduate students to Cuba with the Lauder Program in the spring of 2015.  That year she also received an award for Excellence in Teaching from the Spanish Department. Laura currently serves as the coordinator for Spanish 110 and 120.  She is committed to practicing culturally sensitive language teaching and raising critical language awareness thorough peer collaboration and emphasizing the intersection of language, culture, and identity.
