Anna Papafragou Is New President of Cognitive Science Society

Anna Papafragou, Professor of Linguistics

Anna Papafragou, professor of linguistics and director of the Language and Cognition Lab, is the new president of the Cognitive Science Society (CSS). CSS brings together researchers from around the world to promote cognitive science as a discipline and foster scientific interchange among researchers in areas of study including artificial intelligence, linguistics, and anthropology.

Papafragou researches how children acquire meanings in language, how language is used and understood, and how language interfaces with human perception and cognition. She has been on the CSS Governing Board since 2017 and serves on the U.S. National Committee for Psychological Science/International Union of Psychological Science at the National Academy of Sciences.
