Brief Biography: 

Andrew Hudson is a Lecturer in the Religious Studies department at the University of Pennsylvania. Andrew's research resides at the intersection of religion, race, and class in American history.  In his current book project he is exploring the history of Appalachian Pentecostals as a case study for understanding the religious construction of race. Focusing on embodiment and material aesthetics, Andrew is studying whiteness as a religious construction and an aesthetic of Protestantism in American history and identity.  Andrew has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and a B.A. from Lee University.
