"To teach is to learn twice over." --Joseph Joubert |
About Me.... I have been a Chemistry teacher since starting my career at Cresskill High School in September of 2003. I am deeply indebted to NJ's alternate route certification program and to CHS for allowing me the opportunity to get into a profession which I love and which continues to challenge me. Why did I choose teaching? I chose teaching because 1) I wanted to get rich as quickly as possible. Ha! Joking... Seriously, though... 2) I determined, fairly quickly, that doing lots of solitary research and being a lab grunt was not meant for me! I enjoy the challenge of working with different types of people, and I welcome the fact that one needs to continually improve and evolve to meet the needs of one's students. It can be hard at times, and it's certainly a job (ask me about this on a Friday in the school year), but it is fulfilling. 3) I LOVE Chemistry, and I think I'm fairly good (relatively speaking) at understanding and explaining it. 4) C'mon... aren't high school students (i.e. gangly adolescents who think they know everything) so fun? I definitely have a good belly laugh at least once a day. |
