Objectives of the class:

1.  Understanding the usefulness and limitations of models in describing electron behavior (esp. in regard to the quantum wave-mechanical model)
2. Becoming familiar with major topics in Inorganic Chemistry:
    a) Electronic configuration and periodic properties
    b) Models of acidity, including Lewis acids and bases
    c) 3-D Visualization: An introduction to symmetry and group theory
    d) Modern bonding theories and applications
    e) Introduction to coordination chemistry
    f) Molecular oribtals and bonding redux
