Delphine Dahan, Ph.D.

Delphine received her Ph.D from the University of Paris La Sorbonne Rene Descartes. After spending some time in Baltimore (MD), Rochester (NY), and Nijmegen (The Netherlands) where she learned from inspiring mentors, she has finally settled in Philadelphia, where she is a professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. There, she is quite successful in keeping up with the energy and productivity of the many talented lab members (don't get fooled by the clutter on her office's desk, there's an organizational scheme there).

Sarah Johnstone Drucker

Sarah is a graduate student in the lab. She has a B.A. in Linguistics and Cognitive Science and a M.A. in Psychology, all from Penn. Her broad interests are in the comprehension and representation of spoken language by adults. Her detailed interests change every time she reads something new - approximately daily. All of her pets have pretentious names of famous scientists, and she spends a lot of time in Socratic dialogue with her cat.

Gabriella Garcia

Gabriella is the current lab manager in the Dahan Lab. Graduating from Penn in 2010, she received a B.A. in Cognitive Science with a Neuroscience concentration, along with a minor in Linguistics. Gabriella hopes to attend medical school in the near future, and in the meantime enjoys being a Philly foodie.

Carrie Slaton

Carrie joined the Dahan Lab during the summer of 2010 as a research assistant. She is an undergraduate at Penn currently working towards her B.A. in Psychology. When not manipulating speech sounds, Carrie enjoys being a proud sorority sister, eating Southern food, and being converted into a Philadelphia foodie.

Shannon Fouse

Shannon was the lab manager in the Dahan Lab from 2008 to 2010. She received her B.A. from Penn in 2008 in Cognitive Science with a concentration in Neuroscience and minors in Psychology and French. Shannon is currently working towards her masters in Applied Psychology at Arizona State University.

Anne Pycha, Ph.D.

Anne was a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute for Research in Cognitive Science at Penn from 2008 to 2010. She earned her Ph.D in Linguistics from UC Berkeley in 2008. Her primary research interest lies in characterizing the difference between gradient and categorical effects in word recognition. In 2010-2011, Anne will be a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Tanya Kraljic, Ph.D.

Tanya was a postdoc in the Dahan Lab from 2008 to 2010. She received her Ph.D in Experimental Psychology from Stony Brook University, where her work focused on the phonetic adjustments that speakers and listeners make to one another. She was a postdoc at UCSD from 2006-2008 and valiantly attempting to re-adjust to the cold during her time here in Philadelphia. Tanya is currently living in NYC as a user interface designer.

Adrian Benton

Adrian graduated from the College of Arts and Science in 2008 with a bachelors degree in Linguistics and a minor in Cognitive Science. He was a research assistant in the Dahan Lab from 2008 to 2010. Adrian, who was our local programming genius, has moved on to use his skills to solve other people's problems.

Mark Leung

Mark graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences in 2009 with a degree in Linguistics and minors in Cognitive Science and French. He was a research assistant in the Dahan Lab from 2006 to 2009. He is currently working towards his masters in Human Factors from Carnegie Mellon Unversity.

Vadim Koshkin

Vadim Koshkin was the manager of the Dahan Lab from 2007 to 2008. He is currently attending the University of Chicago medical school.

Annelie Tuinman

Annelie Tuinman spent the first half of 2008 in the Dahan Lab on a Fulbright Scholarship, researching regional dialect shifts. She is currently working towards her Ph.D at the Max Plank Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen, Holland.

Sarah Creel, Ph.D.

Sarah Creel was a postdoc in the Dahan Lab from 2005 to 2007. She is currently an assistant professor in Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego.
