NEW INTERIM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

We are pleased to announce that Thomas Hong has agreed to join us as our one-year Interim Director of the University of Pennsylvania Orchestra. Thomas holds conducting degrees from Rice University (M.Mus. in instrumental conducting), The Curtis Institute of Music (Artist Diploma in orchestral conducting), and Temple University (M.Mus. in choral conducting).Thomas comes to us as an Associate Conductor and Professor of Music at the Rice University Shepherd School. NEW WIND ENSEMBLE INTERIM DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

With the recent departure of our director of the orchestra and wind ensemble, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Ketner has accepted the one-year interim position of Director of the Wind Ensemble.  Mike has his D.M.A from Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester, Rochester, NY) as well as a certificate in non-profit administration from the Fels Institute here at Penn.  He is also the University of Pennsylvania Department of Music Director of Performance and Admissions Liaison.
